My nemesis, namely the corn, has started to flower.

I also have an aubergine flower. Lets hope it flowers (Jo @ Good life – fingers crossed in doesn’t drop off!)

The (bloody) courgettes are flowering nicely:

The tomato’s – I have 1 plant with 5 of these trusses on and they are all formed and all of them have this many fruit on. We’re seeing if its going to make it, or just keel over, and the fruit not ripen, but it looks pretty sturdy….at the moment. (tomorrow its gonna keel over and die!)

Cooking tomato’s – these are again from Dad and his seed saving – looking good, and all of them have about 8-10 fruit on. They look rock solid-ly green. Come on sun……

And this beauty was DE-LIC-IOUS!!!!!! Yumma – the first raspberry of the season! Glen Ample. Only planted in feb and didn’t expect a crop. But they have quite a few fruit on each. Next year…Sainsburys supplier! Or me sat there ready to pop with raspberrys all over my face trying to shove them in…..! I LOVE THEM!

I go for the high risk of popping route, really love all the fruit I get off my allotment. The corn is looking great, I think I planted mine out a little late so I’m not quite at the flowering stage yet.
Enjoy those tomatoes, at least you have made it to the green chutney stage if nothing else!
Looking good. My corn has the flower on top but no tassels up the sides. Hope they appear soon or they will miss each other!
Your corn is ahead of mine. I don’t have any flowers yet.
My aubergine has another four flowers on now so I’m still keeping my fingers crossed for fruit to form.
Hey Amy – I’ve never made green chutney, so I’m quite looking forward to it, cos its horrible and grey and the toms are never going to ripen – boo to a grey summer. Wheres the sun gone!?
hello Rachael – I have another few with the tassles, and the signs of the side thingy-ma-bobs!! The only one that grew last year was like some “elephant man” corn and had massive pieces of corn next to tiny ones – it looked like some weird experiment, it went in the compost bin!
Hey Jo – Yey – 4 flowers! Get in!! The one on our plants doesn’t seem to have done anything, including dropping off…which in my eyes, is a good sign!
