This is slowly turning into some kind of food blog rather than a gardening blog, but its this time of year when its gluts galore, that you need inspiration for new ways of eating corgettes etc!
So, following a small harvest of Glen Ample raspberries yesterday…

I ate them for lunch with my mum and dad with some homemade granola (its yumma! and dead easy to make – I’ll load to my website bit if anyone wants…??) and yogurt. Just delicious! And you get the full flavour of the raspberries! Jam next (without it being a sh*t failure I hope!)

Dug up a few tatties (Pentland Javelin) that I’m sure should have come up ages ago, but hey. No scab hurrah, and no beasties have dug into them….YET!!! I need them out so I can plant some giant pumpkins in there place. (get me – succession planting – whoop!)

I have one aubergine flower – I adore them – they feel like they’re made of paper, so 1 fruit kind of guaranteed!

Had another visitor in the greenhouse but hes done no damage to the slug population!

Finally – I went to opera in the Park at Temple Newsam in Leeds, a wonderful free concert laid on by Leeds council. Was excellent – Alfie Boe was there singing, and we had a picnic and enjoyed the summer night with good company and good food, with a little bit of fizzy stuff – happy days!! Its what summers made for…..
